B ased on real events from the Second World War, Nisa – A Woman, Her War – tells the story of a wife and mother during the war. The events are narrated in a fictional way but are based on two journals Nisa left behind and that were found only after her death. Filled with first person experiences and real historical events, the novel tells the story of a determined strong woman as she battles a male-led society and the restrictions she was forced to face because of it. With an accurate – though not overwhelming – historical reconstruction of the events, Nisa’s story lives again with great sensitivity, and offers an exciting crescendo towards the end of the war and the liberation from such proving years. Set in Rome and in the Umbrian town of Amelia, the novel offers images of the daily life of a woman, wife and mother of two, whose commitment to provide for her family went far and beyond. The novel intends to shine a different light on a time in history usually seen exclusively under a male-centric and militaristic point of view
Informazioni sull'autore

Ettore Farrattini Pojani was born in Rome on May 18th, 1959. He dedicated most of his life to the restoration of antiques, while running a prestigious hotel in the town of Amelia. His great passion and expertise in music (pop, rock and musical), led him to two important collaborations. For many years he wrote articles for the Italian magazine RARO, specializing in music collectibles. Then, since 2018, he started his partnership with the Italian branch of American website BroadwayWorld.com, covering the musical theatre scene of Rome with articles and reviews. Nisa – A Woman, Her War is his first novel, based on real events his grandmother lived through during the Second World War, which draws inspiration from two journals he found in the family home after her death. The journals contain memories from the war, as well as Nisa’s thoughts and some original poems.
