De Marco Alessandra
Alessandra De Marco holds a PhD from the University of Sussex in American Studies. She is Adjunct Professor of English Language and Linguistics at Università della Calabria, Italy. Her current research interests include social semiotic multimodality, destination branding, linguistic, gender and cultural representations in tourism and advertising, critical discourse studies, translation studies, Italian diaspora to New Zealand, American and Italian American literature. Alessandra also works as a freelance translator. She is Council member of the New Zealand Studies Association, Advisory Board member of the Journal of New Zealand and Pacific Studies, Associate curator for the travelling exhibition Easter Island, Myths, and Popular Culture, and for the supporting educational website Moai Culture.
